BRITISH artist and sculptor, RUEL JAMES, was born in Jamaica and educated in England. Although he was blessed with his creative and artistic abilities from an early age, he went on to study at Isleworth Polytechnic (London), and Ealing School of Art with a curriculum of fine art, graphic art, and photography. He also studied sculpture at Twickenham College of Art in London, and then attended the Royal College of Art in London. He then went on working as an artist and illustrator, compiling an impressive client list; Coke, Pepsi, Franklin Mint, Cacharel, British Airways, British Telecom, Air France, Calvin Klein, Levi Strauss, and Ferrari, just to name a few.
His work has granted him the opportunity to travel extensively worldwide, being commissioned for various art projects and exhibitions in such places as France, Belgium, Italy, Singapore, Hong Kong, New Singapore, Hong Kong, New York, and Los Angeles. He is currently settled in the United States, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Unlike most artists, RUEL JAMES has a very diversified range of work. He is internationally known for his dynamic and energizing car art paintings, and also for his realistic, photogenic quality, female paintings. Both of these venues, cars and women, are featured on the recently launched RUEL JAMES designer wear t-shirt line.
He is also widely recognized for his celebrity art. Among the proud owners are President & Mrs. Bill Clinton, who own a RUEL JAMES portrait of Hillary Clinton.
Ruel also has a passion for his jazz art and Black art, having created paintings of such icons as President Barack Obama, Stevie Wonder, BB King, Ray Charles, Louise Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and Eartha Kitt.
Also being an accomplished sculptor, Ruel has been concentrating on and producing his realistic figurative sculptures. And, when his schedule permits, he is willing to conduct private or small group sculpture classes and workshops. Ruel James is available for commissions regarding paintings and sculpture.
